Thuppakki premiere huge success in USA

Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Thuppakki opened big with premieres in 40 locations across USA. AR Murugadoss’s first outing with Vijay had huge expectations among fans. In general people in USA dont go out for movies during week days and in spite of a Monday premiere and with last minute show time updates by theaters due to print arrival and keys for digital prints, still there were lot of people waiting patiently and watch Vijay on premiere. People waited for more than an hour for shows to start in locations like Austin and Minneapolis.

The word of mouth is great for the movie and ATMUS Entertainment, the distributor believes this will turn out to be the first big movie to be a blockbuster in 2012. In spite of date getting pushed from 9th (a weekend) to 13th, ATMUS still managed to release it in 52 screens with 40 premieres.

Some pictures from Bentonville, Arkansas location which required a second premiere show added due to crowd from neighbouring (which is a very small town where they screen only one show normally – only other movie that required a second show was Billa-2 premiere) can be seen below – Vijay fans kept the tradition of garlanding and Milk Abhishekam to Vijay banner in Bentonville premiere!
