Vijay started off his birthday celebration by doing charity in association with his fans club earlier today. The Velayudham star, who is turning 38 today (June 22), visited the government hospital in Egmore, where the actor was born, and gifted gold rings to the newborns.
Around 11 am, Vijay was welcomed to the government hospital and the place was over crowded by his excited fans, who were present to get a glimpse of the actor and the atmosphere became vibrant with his entry. Amidst tight security, he came in and blessed the babies and presented the gold rings. It has become a habit for the Nanban star to gift gold ornaments on his birthday for the babies born in the hospital.
Vijay will be reportedly visiting the Child Jesus church at Chinmaya Nagar and will be distributing sarees, dhotis and other gift articles for the needy. On the other end, the actor's fans association is conducting voluntary blood donation camps at various place in many parts of Tamil Nadu.
His father SA Chandrasekhar will be inaugurating a camp organised at Neelagarai, on the outskirts of Chennai, and they have also planned many welfare programmes.
