Ilayathalapathy Vijay's forthcoming, 'Thupaki', is much expected due to reasons many. And boy oh boy, has the director roped in the best of talents for the cast and crew! The film boasts off some of the finest technicians in the country for the crew.

This project helmed by AR Murugadoss has music by Harris Jayaraj who has managed to make the Ilayathalapathy croon for a track after quite sometime. The song is said to be a fast paced peppy number.

The film is produced by Kalaipuli S Dhanu who is shelving all the money that's required to make the film a grand venture. Ace Thotta Tharani is the art director of the film that has editing by renowned Sreekar Prasad! Another fine bullet in this biggie is the multi-faceted Santosh Sivan who is handling the camera for this film. Most of the scenes are canned in Mumbai.

Vijay will be seen in a whole new stylish suave avatar in this film according to reliable sources. Apt to the title, the actor will be seen as an encounter specialist in 'Thupaki'. Kajal Aggarwal plays Vijay's love interest in this high voltage action entertainer and their on screen chemistry is one of the highlights.

The makers are toying with the idea of featuring Jai as Vijay's younger brother as the former has features that resemble Vijay and the duo make convincing siblings.

Sathyan who provided comic relief in Vijay's 'Nanban', will do so in this biggie as well. Jayaram will be seen in a pivotal role.

Boasting off some of the best talents in the industry, this high voltage action entertainer is one of the biggest films of 2012 and will introduce a suave new avatar of Vijay to his dear fans. Make way for 'Thupaki' that's getting bigger with each passing day!

விஜய் முதன் முறையாக போலீஸ் வேடத்தில் நடித்த படம் 'போக்கிரி'. படத்தில் இறுதிகட்ட காட்சியில் தான் அவர் போலீஸ் அதிகாரி என தெரியவரும். முழுப்படத்திலும் அவர் போலீஸ் அதிகாரியாக நடித்தது இல்லை.

ஏ.ஆர்.முருகதாஸ் இயக்கி வரும் 'துப்பாக்கி' படம் முழுவதுமே என்கவுண்டர் ஸ்பெஷலிஸ்ட் பாத்திரத்தில் நடித்து வருகிறாராம் விஜய். முதற்கட்டமாக மும்பையில் 40 நாட்கள் படப்பிடிப்பு நடைபெற்றது.

'துப்பாக்கி' படத்தின் முக்கால்வாசி கதை மும்பையில் நடைபெறுவது போன்று அமைத்து இருக்கிறாராம் ஏ.ஆர்.முருகதாஸ். இப்படத்திற்காக பெண் பார்க்கும் காட்சியை ஒன்றை படமாக்கி இருக்கிறார்கள். அக்காட்சியில் விஜய் போலீஸ் உடை அணிந்து காஜல் அகர்வாலை பார்க்க போவது போன்று காட்சி அமைத்து இருக்கிறார்கள்.

'நண்பன்' படத்தினை தொடர்ந்து ஏ.ஆர்.முருகதாஸ் இயக்கத்தில் விஜய் நடித்து வரும் படம் 'துப்பாக்கி'. காஜல் அகர்வால் நாயகியாக நடித்து வருகிறார். சந்தோஷ் சிவன் ஒளிப்பதிவு செய்ய, கலைப்புலி. எஸ்.தாணு தயாரித்து வருகிறார்.

முதற்கட்ட படப்பிடிப்பு மும்பையில் நடைபெற்றது. பெப்ஸி பிரச்னையால் படப்பிடிப்பு நிறுத்தப்பட்டது. விரைவில் இரண்டம் கட்ட படப்பிடிப்பு துவங்கும் என்று அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இந்நிலையில் சந்தோஷ் சிவனின் வேகமான மற்றும் துல்லியமான ஒளிப்பதிவை பார்த்த விஜய் 'துப்பாக்கி' படத்தினைத் தொடர்ந்து தனது கால்ஷீட் தேதிகளை சந்தோஷ் சிவன் இயக்கும் படத்திற்கு கொடுத்து இருக்கிறார்.

இப்படத்தினை யார் தயாரிக்க இருக்கிறார் என்பது இன்னும் முடிவாகவில்லை.

Vijay throws a party for CCL winners

Kollywood top-notch Vijay has given out a big party for the industry people and the stars participated in CCL to celebrate the success.

Vijay, who is waiting to revive his Thuppakki schedules that are halted due to the tussles between FEFSI and TFPC has thrown a bash for the Chennai Rhinos, who won the Celebrity Cricket League. The grand party marked the presence of many industry biggies along with Vikranth, Shanthanu, Jithan Ramesh and many others.

The stars seem have partied big time with Vijay. Kajal Agarwal is pairing with Vijay in Thuppakki directed by AR.Murugadoss produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu, distributed by Gemini Film Circuit that has cinematography by Santosh Sivan, dialogues being penned by Jayamohan, editing by A.Sreekar Prasad and music is composed by Harris Jayaraj.

Vijay energized me: Vikranth

Vikranth, who is the main reason behind Chennai
Rhinos emerging triumphant at the Celebrity Cricket League, says he was
energized by Vijay's presence at the stadium during the semi-finals of
the series in Chennai.

The actor-cricketer, who is a cousin to the
Ilayathalapathy, says, "We invited Vijay Anna to come to the stadium and
watch the match. He surprised us by turning up to the semi-finals with
his son Sanjay. His presence energized us a lot."

Stating that he practiced hard for three months for
the CCL tournament, Vikranth says, "Not just myself, everyone in our
team worked so hard. More than anything else, we have become good
friends thanks to the cricket league."

Going down the memory lane, the 'Karaka Kasadara' and
'Goripalayam' actor says, "Though I am not a professional cricketer, I
was interested at the game right from my childhood. I was part of some
State level tournaments also."

Nanban second only to Endhiran!

The strong run that Nanban is having in certain circuits even a month after its release has got the distributors raving about the wonders it has performed at the box office. Nanban has shown nothing less than phenomenal performance in the Madurai and Coimbatore belts. The distributors for these areas, Ramesh and Sivakumar, respectively have stated that almost all centres are witnessing repeat audiences and that is sustaining the collections in a big way. The gross collection of Nanban from 4 circuits of Coimbatore is around Rs. 5.5 crores. This is next only to Superstar’s Endhiran that had done a business of Rs. 8.0 crores during its initial month in the same 4 circuits. Yes, a difference of 2.5 crores in a months run in a district between two movies is quite huge. But, one must also take into account the fact that the tickets for Endhiran during the initial week had sold out for Rs. 500 and above while Nanban tickets were in the normal range of Rs 70-100 in both Madurai and Coimbatore. What does this mean? Well, it’s a complex issue of various factors. That a star can command houseful audiences even with tickets selling for Rs.500 is an indication of the crowd pulling power that he has. At the same time, if Nanban has gone on to make nearly 70% of Endhiran’s collection within the same running period, it means that it commanded a lot of repeat audiences, which the distributors say is true. Of course, we should also understand that the lower ticket rates is also a factor in attracting repeat audiences; which is something that Endhiran could not have done with ticket rates hitting the ceiling.

All said and done, the final numbers state one fact; in many circuits the business that Nanban has generated is second only to Endhiran; and it is definitely the highest ever numbers generated by a Vijay starrer; not to forget Jiiva. And, in the midst of Endhiran, Nanban, Rajni and Vijay, we should not forget the one man common to all this- shankar. He has truly emerged as the biggest revenue generating director of the industry.
